Excuses, excuses
December 20, 2010
New post up at Babble here. And oh, my, how I did enjoy hearing tales of other au pairs! Mine has pissed me off several times since I wrote that entry–I’m tempted to dock his Christmas bonus this year!
I have never been so behind on Christmas preparations, nor so disorganized, nor so completely uninspired and Scrooge-ish and morose. But I’m on my way to pick up my friend who was in France–she and her son just got home!–from the airport, so things are looking up. Comfort and joy to you all, and I’ll write soon. This first Christmas without the kids has me slightly daunted, but all shall be well. I hope. I think.

a very merry, calm, quiet and warm christmas to you. it’s a tricky time of year, and will be sending many thoughts of peace and joy your way.
No, no, no – I’VE got the lock on being the farthest behind in Xmas prep this year!
Yet somehow, every damn “even” year catches me like a knife in the back – when my son is gone for that 1st half of Xmas break…
Not to mention my next achievement will be for Poor Communication Skillz – ai yi yi, & I’m supposed to be a smart person. My au pair called me this AM to authorize the administration of expired antibiotics to our son, who went away w/the early symptoms of sinusitis. I’m not saying the man has to drive 80+ mi across 3 counties to go to Z’s pediatrician, but he **COULD** have taken him to a doc-in-the-box!
It will. Promise.
