The Piggery

November 15, 2012

Yesterday I posted the following view from my bedroom window on Facebook, noting that you could just make out the pig corral at right.

“Wait,” a guy from high school commented. “You live next to a piggery?”

Indeed I do, if two pigs, one biggish and white, one tiny and black, qualify as such. I also live along the preferred route of many dog walkers and cyclists, one of whom takes a nice little ride every morning at dawn, while his golden retriever herds his two pygmy goats. The children, on their way to the new school bus stop, spotted them. (Alas, I have no photographic evidence. Yet.)

Note that there are no houses across the street. Only pigs. Also note: there are screens on the windows! Most convenient.

Above is the view from the window at the top of the stairs. It’s also the view from the toilet, provided you leave the bathroom door open, which I highly recommend.

I realize I don’t usually do this–post pictures, because this is a very serious WRITTEN website. But here is my living room, in a state of mild disarray, and in a photo that, I promise, hardly does it justice.

I will write more about my extremely fascinating feelings and emotions in a little while, when I can manage to stop wandering from room to room with a big stupid grin on my face, goggling at my good fortune. All of you who said that I would leave my old house and find the perfect new house someday, when the time was right and the planets lined up and it was meant to be? History has proved you correct.

This place–it’s a dream. And I’m so, so, so happy.

Congratulations!! It looks lovely. The first of my houses is slated to close today (fingers still crossed of course) and the second next week (fingers doubly crossed), so it would seem we’re both getting our real estate dreams made true at the same time. yay!

Yes – but sometimes, pictures do speak louder than words. Those pictures exude happiness if that’s possible? And, as other’s have said, happy is good. Great even. Really glad you’re there.

This made me very, very happy for you. Happiness, a new home, and pygmy goats, even! Long-awaited, much-deserved.

(The house/happiness, not the goats.) (Or, what the hell. The goats, too.)

The view from the window at the top of the stairs is the exact same to the one from Anne’s bedroom. Anne of Green Gables, that is. I would not ask for much more. So happy for you!
(If the feeling I had when I walked into my first flat, my pre-marriagevery own perfect flat, is anything to go by, you must be in heaven. I am so happy for you!)
